
Being a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug Naproxen is used extensively in relieving pain and inflammation. An effective drug to be employed in the treatment of the symptoms of conditions like Arthritis .A doctor recommends a dose after examining the condition of the patient and noting down their medical history. It is important that adequate amount of details regarding the patients medical history is collected as the dose which was effective in one patient can be an overdose for another patient suffering from similar condition. Though the human anatomy is the same the way each person reacts to a drug is different as it depends on various factors which is why each patient is examined in great detail before prescribing the dose. When a person takes a dose of Naproxen in excess to the dose recommended the amount of the drug in his body would exceed the requisite level thereby leading to overdose. The patient is mostly administered with active charcoal or is made to vomit by giving certain drugs to clean the stomach. The patient’s temperature, pulse, breathing rate, and blood pressure are constantly monitored at the time of overdose. Symptoms of an overdose is usually felt in Nervous system,Lungs,Heart and blood vessels,Gastrointestinal system,Eyes, ears, nose, and throat. Agitation,Coma,Confusion,Convulsions and Dizziness are some of the symptoms.
